Event: Tech in Asia 2017
I have attended the two day TIA event this year, and to be honest I have mixed feeling about the event. Casual connect asia is much fun and engaging, but this TIA Conference 2017 - Day 1.
Insight: Dive into it. Solve it.
After attending tech in asia, seeing and listening to startup and founders puting up all their efforts and motivation into their products. I realized that this space and effort I am doing is not enough. People are hungry and they would do all efforts to strive.
I have been delaying some projects because of various reasons and projections. At the end of the day, we are not sure whether it will succeed or fail, but we need to challenge a problem and see how it will scale. If it only applies to a few, then settle with the niche and study the market. The most important part is to ensure that there is a real problem to solve, or a pain point that can be uplifted.
Crash Course: Handhelds
Today, we’re going to talk about the gaming devices that combine the screen, speakers, controls, and computer into one neat little package - that’s right we’re talking about handheld game consoles. Handhelds have actually been around since the mid 1970s, and they’ve made some incredible strides within the past few decades from blinking lights to glasses free 3d and even console-equivalent graphics. But even with their early successes their future isn’t so certain. The early market saw the rise of Nintendo, Sony, and Sega, but has since been whittled down to just to Nintendo. And although the Game Boy, and Nintendo DS handhelds have sold incredibly well, mobile gaming seems to be eating away at Nintendo’s market.
