Singtel Life Spark 2014

Monday of November 10, 2014

Lifespark is an annual event for internal Singtel employees who wants to drive innovation within the company. The event is organized by pollenizer a start incubation company. The contest were around 60 hours, were in you can get coaching and mentoring for your business. As a freelancer and as an aspiring entrepreneur as myself I were able to get a few insights on what their experiences are in their own companies.

As a previous employee of HP(Hewlett Packard), I was ingrained with their concept the first time I joined their company 5 years ago. The director mentioned that "We hire not to make you just as an employee, but we hire you to make you as our business partners. If someday you decide to leave HP and starts your own businesses, we here at 'HP' will support your endeavors and challenges"; as a fresh graduate it was an enticing prologue entering my first job. After attending the Lifespark event, it reminded me the same entrepreneur drive that I used to had, when I was younger.

I am currently working to build a game development start-up studio, composed of a small group of individuals. For the past few months, I lacked the focus and planning needed for me to execute my goals, Lifespark somehow help me put back on track.
